Graduating from high school. Dress made by me.

I thought I would like to tell you a little about myself and what I did before coming to live in Ecuador, since this is also a blog about my life. Right now I am a stay-at-home mom for my beautiful baby girl, but what did I actually do before that.

As a child and a teenager I was never really interested on studies. I always passed to the next level, but never with good grades. Only when I started to study for a profession I got interested and also with quite good grades too, without putting much effort anyway.

Actually I am a woman of three professions. I come from Finland and as people may know studying there is for free. Also the government provides some financial support for the students, which actually helps a lot. I did some part time jobs too while studying to get some extra cash.

Me as a millinery student. Hat and jacket made by me.

After high school I spend one year thinking what I might want to study and came to a conclusion I want to work at a theatre wardrobe. I applied to a dressmaker school and got in. I liked the studies, and thought that if I want to work on a theatre I need to improve my skills. Improving my skills meant for me studying another occupation close to dressmaking, so I went to millinery school. Ok, after graduating I realized that the only way to find a job was to start my own business. I never been interested to have my own company, so I decided to go study once more.  By the way, one of my friend has her own hat atelier in Helsinki and she designs and makes beautiful hats. You can visit her blog Diamond Stash.

Graduating from milliner school

So, the third time I wanted to graduate to a profession that would actually give me a job. After thinking many possibilities, I found out that there is a shortage for radiographers. After graduating from Metropolia Polytechnic of applied sciences, I started to work on a big hospitals x-ray unit, where I worked for some years before moving to Ecuador. Working there was really good experience and some of my colleges became my friends too. That’s my history of studying.

Now I’m at home with my baby and learning every day something new from her, I love my new job <3
