Doing yoga at home

I do yoga almost every day at home, as it´s a good practice both for the body and the mind. My target is to do yoga for 30 minutes or more at a time. I like to do both power yoga classes or yin yoga depending on my mood and overall feeling, but I always try to listen to my body. Most of the days I do yoga in the evening before I go to sleep because it suites my schedule the best.

For doing yoga at home all you need is some comfortable clothes and a good yoga mat. Actually even the mat isn´t necessarily needed. When I first started I did yoga for months before I bought myself a yoga mat. When you do buy a mat try to choose a good quality. If the mat isn´t good you don´t want to use it. My current mat is from the Moonchild and I find it the best quality mat I had so far. It has a good grip and it haven’t started to crumble like my previous mat from Gaiam.

Norway always blows my mind with the amazing landscapes.

Practicing regularly is important

It´s very important that when you start you start to practice regularly. If you are not consistent with your practice you won´t see much difference in your overall feeling. I been doing some yoga almost all of my adulthood but had periods of time that I didn´t do any and I wasn´t very consistent with my yoga. For example when I moved to Ecuador I stopped totally doing yoga. Actually it was just two years ago when I started to do my yoga practice more regularly and mindfully.

The reason why I decided to start to do regular yoga practice was because I was having often strong migraine and I thought that maybe yoga could help me to cope with the headaches. Now after two years I have noticed that my migraine is almost gone. Regular yoga practice makes wonders not only for your body but for the mind too. After a busy day yoga can reset your mind to feel more calm and grounded.

Youtube yoga teachers that I like to follow

I choose yoga classes from YouTube, because I like to do the yoga at my home but also I like guided classes. Before I always went to a yoga studio but I have noticed that it´s not really needed. You can find very professional yoga classes for free from YouTube. Actually I also noticed that doing yoga at home is more natural for me, I can relax better.

I have three favorite YouTube yoga teachers whose classes I like to follow. There are many teachers on YouTube so sometimes it can be a bit tricky to find the best ones.

Travis Eliot – YouTube Travis Eliot if my favorite YouTube teacher at the moment. He has some very relaxing yin yoga classes as well as well designed power yoga classes. I been thinking many times to buy a subscription for his Inner Dimension TV, but so far I haven´t bought it.

Yoga With Tim – YouTube Tim Senesi is another one of my favorite teachers. He has some great 30 days yoga challenges. If you want to get yoga to a daily routine I would recommend to start with one of his challenges.

Boho Beautiful Yoga – YouTube Boho Beautiful is a digital nomad couple who film their yoga videos in the most amazing locations. They also have very good variety of different kind of yoga classes suitable both for beginners and advanced yogis.

One time I did yoga in the parking lot in Lapland during our caravan trip. It was late May and there was still quite a lot of snow in the forest so I didn´t have a chance to go there.

Nowadays I consider yoga as a part of my daily routines. The days that I don´t get to my yoga mat I feel like the day is missing an important part. I hope I can practice yoga in the future too as I feel it has had a very big impact in my life. I wish you a good practice on your yoga mat!
