Have you ever spend a night at the jungle? Night at the jungle is one of the greatest experiences after spending many years in a city. I traveled to Ecuador to visit the jungle, see the nature and the Amazon rain forest. Cuyabeno was the first place for me to visit in this beautiful country and I loved the place. After that first visit, I have visited the Ecuadorian rain forest many times.

Night at the jungle isn’t quiet. It’s full of sounds from the nocturnal animals. The nocturnal animals start their days when the sun sets, and suddenly the jungle is full of life and sounds.

You can hear different kind of frogs start their nightly choir, you can hear the night monkeys coming out to searching for food, you can hear a lonely sound of a night bird like Potoo (link to Wikipedia) or an owl or maybe you can hear a rainstorm and the thunder coming closer. Hear the rain pouring hard on the trees and the river and on the lodge roof.

Night at the jungle isn’t quiet but it’s peaceful, it’s beautiful and it’s full of life. The sounds from the nature, the sounds of life. Sit outside, listen to the sounds, look to the sky and maybe you can see a shooting star.
